Select your very own race car and climb on in. When the race starts step on the gas and speed away!

You can actually steer (though a track underneath your car will keep you from running off the road) as you drive through the course. While you actually don’t drive very fast (7.5 mph is your top speed), kids can actually experience the thrill of driving their very own car.

As you complete your circuit of the serpentine track, you’ll round the final bend towards the checkered flag and victory!

Magical Moments

  • If they’re tall enough to drive, young kids will thrill at the prospect of taking the wheel of their own race car.
  • The cars use real gas-powered engines, so the sights and sounds are truly authentic!
  • Once you leave the starting line, you can sit back and enjoy a relaxing ride through a beautifully detailed landscape (that is, unless you have someone riding on your rear bumper!).

Hidden Mickeys & Other Secrets

  • OK, this one’s a little obscure! From the Grandstand viewing area, look at the third billboard from the walkway to see a pair of Mickey ears below the man’s silhouette.

Did You Know...?

  • The entire course is 2,260 feet (that’s nearly half a mile!).
  • There are a total of 146 race cars at the Speedway (though fortunately they’re not all on the track at the same time…).
  • The original sponsor was none other than the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

Touring Tips

  • Don’t worry about running off of the road, the cars are actually guided by a rail on the track (but you can steer a little).
  • Lines for the Speedway can be very long and extremely slow moving. The waiting area is also uncovered so you can get pretty hot. Try to visit during a parade or at the beginning and end of the day to avoid the crowds.
  • You must be 52″ to ride alone. Smaller children can ride with you but won’t be able to steer.
  • If you have back problems, be aware that you may be bumped from behind by anxious drivers.
