The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is one of the top thrill rides in all of Walt Disney World (rivaling the Tower of Terror right next door). It’s a roller caster ride in the dark, but unlike Space Mountain, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster features three inversions and an initial launch that will leave you breathless!

Your adventure starts out in a recording studio, where the members of Aerosmith are just finishing up a recording session. They’re off to wild party and of course they’d like you to come along! Making your way out the back of the studio, you find yourself curbside where your limo is all set to speed you on your way.

But this is unlike any limo you’ve ever seen. With classic Aerosmith tunes blasting out of the built-in speakers, you’re off on a thrilling, high speed ride that will leave you breathless!

Magical Moments

  • Talk about an adrenalin rush! The initial launch that propels you to nearly 60 mph in a few seconds will (literally) take your breath away.
  • Try to keep an eye out for the neon glow street signs that are suspended in space all around you.
  • If you keep your eyes open you might barely be able to see the tracks as they wind up over your head when you enter the loops and corkscrews (that’s the only warning you’re going to get when an inversion is coming!).

Hidden Mickeys & Other Secrets

  • Look on the floor of the recording studio to find three coiled up cables forming a Hidden Mickey.
  • Look at the license plates of the limos to find a small Hidden Mickey in the upper right corner.

Did You Know...?

  • Each car features its very own soundtrack performed by Aerosmith.
  • The initial launch of your limo takes you from 0-57 mph in 2.8 seconds, propelling you 200 feet straight ahead! That’s fast!
  • Each limo contains 125 speakers and 24 sub-woofers. Not only that, there are also more than 900 speakers mounted along the tracks!

Touring Tips

  • You must be 48” to ride. The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coasters features 3 inversions (one loop and two corkscrews). The majority of the ride is actually quite smooth, though the initial launch slams you back into your seat. If you have back problems or other medical conditions, be aware of that (you can minimize the shock by pressing yourself back into your seat before you take off).
  • This is a FastPass+ attraction. Since this is one the more popular attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (along with the nearby Tower of Terror), lines will be long throughout the day, so FastPass is highly suggested!
  • You can also try to visit first thing in the morning to avoid a long wait. If you do, you can try this strategy to get a one-two thrill punch! Reserve a FastPass for the Tower of Terror first thing in the morning. Make a dash to the Rock ‘n Roller Coaster to beat the crowds. When you’re finished you’ll probably be able to use your FastPass to quickly ride the Tower of Terror (though you do so at your own peril!).Despite the inversions, motion sickness isn’t much of a problem for most folks. Many people are surprised, in fact, to learn that they experienced three inversions!
