Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is a cutting-edge attraction that takes you on a multi-platform journey through a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Hidden in the forest outside Black Spire Outpost, the Resistance is gathering recruits for a secret mission. With the First Order desperate to extinguish the spark of the Resistance, the mission is bound to have unexpected twists and turns. When your transport is captured by an imposing First Order Star Destroyer filled with legions of stormtroopers – and even Kylo Ren! – you’re going to need all the help you can get.

After making your way though an elaborate queue, you’ll step inside an Intersystem Transport Ship, which is pulled into the Star Destroyer by a tractor beam, taking you inside the massive hangar bay. You’ll next be lead down a series of passageways to a holding area for the Star Destroyer’s detention cells, guarded by a pair of Stormtroopers. Once the doors to the detention cell open, you are instructed to enter so that the interrogation process can begin. A Stormtrooper stands guard from high atop the terrace and speaks into a communicator that, “prisoners are secure.” As both Kylo Ren and Hux depart the detention cell, a laser cuts through a side wall of the room.

You’ll then board a First Order Fleet Transport. Electronic schematics of the Star Destroyer are displayed on video screens as Finn (in video form) instructs: “OK, take this corridor…then head down to the escape pod base.” Next, the transports begin their journey through the industrial corridors of the Star Destroyer. When a pair of Stormtroopers spot the escape attempt, an epic battle between the Resistance and the First Order begins. Amidst the blaster fire, the ride vehicles take evasive action and take an alternate route through a cavernous room comtaining two massive, life-size All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT) Walkers. More Stormtroopers converge, blaster fire is exchanged, and you then move into an elevator shaft to be lifted up above ground level. only to be confronted by Kylo Ren!

Kylo calmly proclaims, “there is nowhere to run,” and he begins his pursuit. Just as Kylo is about to reach you, the doors close, but then his signature red lightsaber blade cuts through the roof of the elevator. Fortunately, another door opens to reveal a wall of windows, where an epic battle between Resistance and First Order ships can be seen taking place outside. Kylo Ren then appears and uses the Force to move the ride vehicles as he yells: “There’s no escape. You will tell me the location of the secret base. And then I will destroy you and the Resistance!”

Suddenly, a massive blast cracks a whole in the Star Destroyer’s hull directly behind Kylo. Thanks to that distraction, your transports are able to make their way to a First Order Short-Range Evacuation Vehicle (an escape pod to you and me). This is the climax of the attraction, a dramatic, heart-pumping plunge down from the Star Destroyer. The escape pods then turn into motion simulators and dodge more First Order fire before racing back towards Batuu for a crash landing. Poe and Finn both offer congratulations.
