Entering into this part of the Animal Kingdom takes you back millions of years into the past, where these mysterious creatures ruled the earth and roamed the primeval landscape. As you explore DinoLand U.S.A., you’ll find a fascinating variety of exhibits and life-size dinosaur reproductions that let you experience what life was like in the distant past (oh, and there’s some heart-stopping thrills to be found along the way!).

Be sure to visit Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama, a land within a land at DinoLand U.S.A. In addition to being the home of  TriceraTop Spin, Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama has a prehistoric carnival midway, with lots of games and prizes. Keep your eye out for the 50 foot Brontosaurus that hovers over the entrance!

Magical Moments

  • DinoLand U.S.A. is a dream come true for dinosaur lovers of all ages. You can imagine yourself as a world-traveling archeologist or a time-traveling scientist teleported back to prehistoric times (now that you mention it, your time-traveling escapades may come in handy at the Dinosaur attraction…!).
  • Despite the hustle and bustle found at Chester & Hesters Dino-Rama and throughout the main thoroughfare in DinoLand, there are a number of surprisingly quiet pathways that you can explore. Cretaceous Trail is a tranquil, prehistoric oasis right in the heart of DinoLand U.S.A. You’ll also find an out of the way path winding around to the left of the Dinosaur attraction, and an especially lengthy trail that heads to the left as soon as you cross over the bridge from Discovery Island. This path takes you on a nice, peaceful trek alongside the largest expanse of Discovery River, leading to a bridge that will take you to Asia and Expedition Everest.

Hidden Mickeys & Other Secrets

  • Immediately after you pass beneath the Olden Gate Bridge, keep an eye out for a bulletin board filled with some humorous notes courtesy of the Disney Imagineers.
  • In the plaster room at Restaurantosaurus, you’ll find a pair of Minnie Mouse ears in white plaster hanging over the entrance to the bunk room.
  • As you walk through Cretaceous Trail, check out the back of the large red and green dinosaur for a hidden surprise!

Did You Know...?

  • As you enter DinoLand, U.S.A., you’ll pass under the Olden Gate Bridge, which is actually a replica of 40 foot tall Brachiosaurus skeleton.
  • The cycad collection along Cretaceous Trail is the third largest collection in North America. Though cycads are a minor part of the plant kingdom today, during the Jurassic period they were extremely common.

Touring Tips

  • DinoLand USA can be a bit confusing to navigate. Basically, as you enter from Discovery Island, bear to the right to make your way towards DINOSAUR, bear to the left to head for Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama.
  • Be sure to take a stroll through Cretaceous Trail. You’ll find some incredibly realistic dinosaur sculptures as well as a variety of plants and foliage that were found in prehistoric times. It’s like walking through a time machine!
