Board your toy rocket and hang on tight as the Aliens take you on a spinning ride through space! Once the fun begins, the vehicles twist and twirl around a series of circular boards. A large “Claw” hangs from the ceiling of the attraction, with one of the aliens already dangling from the claw’s grip. Different toy planets, stars, and satellites surround the claw.

Alien Swirling Saucers, like Toy Story Land as a whole, is pure fun for kids and kids at heart. It features a queue with numerous fun elements and an entertaining attraction experience. Best of all, the attraction provides a much-needed child friendly experience for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The only downside to the attraction is that it only lasts 1 minute and 30 seconds. Notwithstanding that short duration, you’ll be left saying one thing at the end: “Oooooo!”

Magical Moments

  • You may not realize it right away, but in keeping with the spirit of Toy Story Land, your adventures find you shrunk down to toy size! According to the backstory, you’re inside a play set that Andy won at Pizza Planet. The Aliens have powered up their flying saucers—and they’re ready to spin you on a wild ride into space!
  • You’ll find one of the best photo opportunities in all of Walt Disney World right outside Alien Swirling Saucers, a large figure of Buzz Lightyear!
  • In keeping with the connection to “Pizza Planet,” many different “pizza” references you can find. In particular look for a pizza space station and “Planet Pepperonia.”
  • Be sure to experience Alien Swirling Saucers at night, when the attraction’s neon lights create an even more energetic mood and ride experience!

Hidden Mickeys & Other Secrets

  • A mural painted on a wall is labeled as “DOCKING CONTROL” and depicts a control room looking into space where a ship attempts to dock to a space station. A series of three buttons on a control panel at the bottom of that mural create a hidden Mickey.
  • Die-hard fans of Pixar films know that the word ‘A113’ appears in every Pixar movie. One of the murals in the Alien Swirling Saucers queue includes designations for “Bay 1” and “Bay 13.” The combination of those letters of course results in “113” with the “Bay” word making an “A” sound.
  • Be sure to look on the roof of the covered portion of the queue, as you will see a replica of the box that the Buzz Lightyear toy came in! A large satellite dish also sits on the roof of the queue.

Did You Know...?

  • Alien Swirling Saucers consists of two different sides, or different play sets if you will. Those play sets are housed underneath a canopied area that is themed as a flying saucer!
  • Each side of the attraction includes 11 ride vehicles that hold, depending on size, two to three Guests each. Those ride vehicles are themed as rocket ships. A lovable green, three-eyed alien from the Toy Story film franchise pilots each rocket ship.

Touring Tips

  • Alien Swirling Saucers is similar to the Magic Kingdom’s Mad Tea Party, though not quite as intense.
  • While the attraction is “family friendly,” please note that it does have a 32 inch height requirement.
  • There’s lots to see in the queue! For example, the entrance to the Alien Swirling Saucers queue is flanked by two robotic “guards” that are reminiscent of those seen in the Pizza Planet scene from the original Toy Story film. Each guard holds a spear that includes a slice of pizza at the end!
