Your journey begins as you pick out your very own magic carpet to take to the skies. As you climb aboard your carpet, you’ll find a control stick that allows you to climb and dip as your carpet flies through the air, circling the Genie’s lamp perched atop the center pillar.
As you spin around, be sure to pay attention to the camels. Some of them are a bit playful and might spit at you! Fortunately, Iago is nowhere to be found, or he might cause a lot more mischief…

Magical Moments

  • If you liked the movie Aladdin, make sure you spend some time wandering through the Bazaar to get a real flavor of exotic Agrabah.
  • Look for the spitting camel and see if you can get wet (that’s quite a story you’ll be able to tell).
  • If you’re riding with a small child, let them take the controls and watch the delight in their faces as they soar high into the sky.

  • As you enter the Bazaar, look carefully on the ground and see if you can find a Hidden Mickey in the jewels (look near the spitting camel…).

Did You Know...?

  • Legend has it that the Genie bottle that serves as the focal point of the attraction was unearthed during the removal of a well in the central plaza during the Adventureland expansion.Many of the tiles embedded into the ground were taken from a small building that had to be removed when the Magic Carpets were constructed.The jewelry in the ground mimics the pieces that can be bought in the surrounding Bazaar. You can also see the same jewelry pieces incorporated into the awnings of the marketplace.

Touring Tips

  • As you walk around the bazaar near the ride, be sure to look at the ground-you might find a jewel stuck in the ground here and there! (unfortunately, you can’t pick them up…)
  • Watch out for the camels! One of them likes to spit at you (don’t worry, it’s only water!). Can you find him?
  • The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a slow loading attraction. Because of that, lines can be long and slow moving, though usually not as long as the similarly styled Dumbo attraction in Fantasyland. To avoid a long wait, try to visit early in the morning or during a parade or show.
  • Don’t forget that you can control the height at which you fly.
