Muppet*Vision 3D is an indoor theater presentation featuring wacky 3D effects, slapstick gags, and your favorite muppet characters. Kermit the Frog is your host (naturally!), and he invites you to join him on a tour of Muppet Laboratories. Fozzie Bear is on hand to tell a few jokes, but Kermit promises that there will be no cheesy 3D effects (yeah, right!). Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker are on hand to begin the demonstration, but of course things go wrong and much mayhem ensues! Now the whole gang gets involved as the Swedish Chef takes over the projector, Miss Piggy insists on giving her feature performance, and Sam Eagle continues to prepare for the grand finale full of exploding cannons, fireworks, an army of wooden soldiers, and a chorus of penguins. And as usual, Statler and Waldorf are right at home in their box seats, cheering (?) on the festivities!

Magical Moments

  • Thanks to Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker, you’ll get to meet a whimsical 3D creation named Waldo, who has a whole lot of surprises in store for you.
  • Throughout the show you’ll get spritzed with water, blasted with bursts of air, and bombarded with all sorts of 3D effects. But the most magical moment is when a cascade of soap bubbles floats down from the ceiling.
  • Keep an eye out for Ratso is he does a (pretty bad) impression of another famous mouse you might be familiar with.
  • Not all of the action takes place on the screen! Look around the theater to find the Swedish Chef and Statler and Waldorf (especially towards the end of the show).

Hidden Mickeys & Other Secrets

  • While you’re in the preshow area, watch the monitors and wait for the test pattern to appear. See if the black lines on the white background form a familiar pattern…
  • Near the entrance turnstiles on the right is a ticket window with a notice that says “Back in 5 Minutes—Key under Mat”. Look under the mat and you will actually find the key embedded in the carpet!
  • In the pre-show area look above you to find a net full of what looks like jello. A net full of jello? (Annette Funicello is of course the most famous member of the original Mickey Mouse Club).
  • Look on top of the exterior wall to your right as you approach the attraction from Star Tours. Along the top of the wall are planters with flowers in them. Take a look at the last one, you’ll see it contains not flowers, but an ice cream sundae!
  • How about a Hidden Gonzo? Look for a large pipe sticking out of the wall as you enter the building. The pipe bends downward, just like Gonzo’s nose. Around this pipe, drawn in chalk, is the rest of Gonzo’s face!

Did You Know...?

  • The theater is actually modeled after the theater that was seen on “The Muppet Show”.
  • Because some of the elements of the show are actually live (such as the bubbles that descend from the ceiling while Fozzie Bear blows bubbles onscreen), the show is sometimes referred to as Jim Henson’s MuppetVision 4D!

Touring Tips

  • Muppet Vision 3D draws moderate crowds throughout the day. Since the theater holds a large group of people however, the longest you’ll have to wait is usually no more than 15-20 minutes (the time it takes for the previous show to let out).
  • To get a full appreciation of the 3D effects, try to sit in the middle or rear of the theater (if you sit too close the effects may be hard to see).
  • Since you need to continue all the way across the row when entering the theater, try to let in a large group of people in ahead of you to assure yourself a seat in the middle of the row.
  • The show is filled with hilarious 3D sight gags, though some of the effects may be a bit intense for younger children.
  • You’ll get to enjoy some Muppet hilarity in the pre-show area while you’re waiting (keep your eye on the television monitors!).
