Eleven pavilions surround World Showcase Lagoon, and each makes you feel as if you’re really visiting a foreign land. Every detail is authentic, from the architecture and landscaping to the food and shopping. Even the cast members are visitors from their host countries! A few of the pavilions feature additional rides or theatrical presentations, but every one is a magical world unto itself and not to be missed!

Magical Moments

  • The cast members are actually from the host country of each pavilion. They’ll be glad to talk with you and share information and stories from their home countries.
  • At the conclusion of the nightly fireworks show above World Showcase Lagoon, don’t be in such a hurry to leave. Sit on a bench and let the crowds jostle their way out of the park. After the crowd thins, you’ll be able to enjoy one of the most magical moments to be experienced at Walt Disney World. Stroll through the pavilions as tranquil music plays in the background. The stores will be closed, but you can wander through the pavilions and enjoy the mystical ambience (pretty much all to yourself). Take a stroll through the gardens in Japan, the courtyard in the United Kingdom, the plaza in Italy and the alleys of Morocco. After a while you can then make your way to the exits at a leisurely pace.
  • World Showcase is filled with incredibly authentic details and out-of-the-way places. Take the time to immerse yourself in each pavilion thoroughly, it’s one of the most magical places in all of Walt Disney World to explore!
  • A nice way to experience the entirety of World Showcase is to purchase a tiny souvenir from each pavilion to make a one-of-a-kind remembrance of your trip. Or try a small snack from each pavilion; you can tell your friends that you ate your way around the world!

Hidden Mickeys & Other Secrets

  • Look for the clock tower near the International Gateway. The clock face and the scrollwork underneath combine to form an (upside-down) Hidden Mickey.

Did You Know...?

  • The promenade around World Showcase is 1.3 miles long.
  • An Equatorial Africa pavilion was planned and partly built (it’s the area now known as the Outpost). After Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened (which essentially created an incredibly large African pavilion a short ride away!), plans for a full-fledged African Pavilion were set aside.

Touring Tips

  • Between Germany and Italy you’ll find the Outpost, an African themed pavilion serving a variety of cool drinks, fresh fruits, and snacks.
  • KIDCOT
    For kids, every pavilion features a special area called KidCot. Children are given a plain mask at their first stop, and can take it around to each KidCot station to color. Additionally, cast members will give out autographs and stickers (collect them all for a special surprise!). You can purchase a special Passport booklet at any World Showcase shop to keep them in—they make great souvenirs!
  • World Showcase opens at 11:00 am (you can still enter through the International Gateway and walk to Future World before World Showcase opens).
  • There are two Friendship launches that cross World Showcase Lagoon throughout the day. They depart from Showcase Plaza (right as you enter World Showcase from Future World) and take guests to docks in front of the Germany and Morocco pavilions.
