As you enter the Italy pavilion, you’ll pass underneath a detailed recreation of the Venetian campanile of St. Mark’s. In the center of the pavilion is the Plaza del Teatro, where live street theater in the style of the commedia dell’artre is performed. It’s the perfect place for relaxing, but be sure to explore the rest of the pavilion to see classic Italian sculptures and fountains.

Before you leave, look out on the lagoon to see several authentic gondolas moored to the bank. They add a classic touch to this beatiful pavilion, but unfortunately, you can’t ride them!

Magical Moments

  • The Italy pavilion is home to tranquil courtyard that’s perfect for relaxing and enjoying a cold beverage or gelato (Italian ice cream!).
  • This is one of the most immersive pavilions in World Showcase. As you walk back in to the inner courtyard (perhaps on the way to Via Napoli for some incredible pizza!) you’ll truly feel as you’ve traveled to a far away land.

Hidden Mickeys & Other Secrets

  • As you approach the Italy pavilion from Germany, look for three leaves on one of the pillars forming a Hidden Mickey.
  • See if you can find the Hidden Mickey in the rocks in the back of Bernini’s Neptune Fountain.

  • At the heart of the pavilion is a replica of Venice’s pink and white Doge’s Palace.

Touring Tips

  • Keep an eye out for Sergio, a juggler who makes appearances in the courtyard Monday through Friday.
  • Look for the KIDCOT pavilion, where children can color in a special World Showcase mask and have their passports or autograph books signed and stamped (passports can be obtained at most World Showcase gift shops, our Guide to the Magic for Kids book also contains special World Showcase sections with lots of extras).
  • You’ll also see Bernini’s Neptune Fountain in the center of the pavilion.
  • If you liked the Carnevale Masks, you can shop for your own in the Il Bel Cristallo store.
