As you board your raft, it may seem as if you’re in store for a nice, lazy trip, but soon your raft will plummet down the white water rapids of this out of control river, propelling you on a fast and turbulent ride! Unexpected twists and turns bounce you all across the river, and along the way you’ll pass under a massive, soaking waterfall. Be warned, you could get VERY VERY wet on this ride, so hang on tight and be prepared for a drenching good time!

Magical Moments

  • The Kali River Rapids queue is one of the most elaborate in all of Walt Disney World. Be sure to look around as you pass through to appreciate all of the detail.
  • When it’s really hot outside, there’s nothing like taking a ride on Kali River Rapids and getting drenched by the waterfall. Now THAT’S refreshing!
  • As your journey begins you’ll find yourself in an exotic and far off land filled with cooling mists and the exotic scent of jasmine.
  • Your journey will take you through an exotic rain forest and mysterious temple ruins.

Hidden Mickeys & Other Secrets

  • In the queue, keep an eye out on your left to find three plates on the wall forming a Hidden Mickey (they’re in the room with the bicycle).
  • Look above the entrance and exit doors to find a pair of golden Hidden Mickeys.

Touring Tips

  • You must be 38″ to ride. The ride itself is turbulent and unpredictable but not particularly rough. Nevertheless, if you have back problems or other medical conditions be aware that you might get bounced around a bit.
  • Kali River Rapids is one of the most popular attractions at the Animal Kingdom and draws large crowds all day. Take advantage of the FastPass option or tour early in the day to avoid long lines.
  • YOU WILL GET WET! In fact, you might get soaked!! If it’s a hot day that will certainly be a welcome relief, but if it’s chilly you might want to have an extra set of clothes handy.
  • Be sure to store any valuables away in the enclosed protective area on the raft. Better yet, pack them in a plastic bag first!
  • If you’re wearing shoes and socks you might want to take them off (the socks at least) and stow them away. Nothing is harder on the feet than walking around in wet footwear all day.
