Located in the shadow of Cinderella Castle, Fantasyland is home to many of your favorite Disney characters including Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo and Ariel. Certainly the most “carnival” like of all the Magic Kingdom lands, Fantasyland is a magical place for the young and young at heart.

Magical Moments

  • Fantasyland becomes a magical carnival of lights when the sun goes down. For a tremendous view, stand behind Prince Charming Regal Carrousel and look back towards Cinderella Castle. The Carrousel is covered with hundreds of fairground lights, creating a stunning contrast to the Castle which is bathed in an ever-changing kaleidoscope of spotlights.
  • As you make your way through Fantasyland, be sure to keep an eye out for the beautifully detailed fountains and statues that line the walkways.

Hidden Mickeys & Other Secrets

  • Look for the Cinderella Fountain next to Tinker Bell’s Treasures. If you stand in just the right spot (slightly to the right and below eye level), the crown in the background mural will be placed perfectly over Cinderella’s head!

Did You Know...?

  • Many of the architectural details throughout Fantasyland are reminiscent of Cinderella Castle. For instance, along many of the rooftops you’ll find block walls and turrets identical to those found on the Castle.
  • One of the challenges in creating Fantasyland was in the architectural design of the buildings. Imagineers needed to stylistically represent many of the classic Disney films in the attraction facades without creating a disorienting mish-mash of opposing styles. The solution was to create an eclectic European gothic village. A wide variety of influences creates an enchanted storybook setting; everything from an Alpine Village and English Tudor Houses to a Medieval Tournament and even a mystical seaside land.
  • If you look carefully, you’ll see that all of the attraction buildings are decorated for a festival. What festival? Why, the very celebration that you, the guest of honor, are attending!

Touring Tips

  • In addition to the storybook attractions, Fantasyland is also home to many shows. As you approach Prince Charming Regal Carrousel you may spot the Sword in the Stone. It’s not just for decoration, every so often Merlin himself comes out and selects a lucky child from the audience to try their luck at pulling out the sword.
  • You’ll also be able to see many extravagant shows taking place at the Castle Forecourt Stage. (You can consult your park guides for show times).
  • And that’s not all! Be sure to explore the pathways around the castle. To the right of the Castle (as you view it from Main Street), you’ll find the Fairytale Garden tucked away by a quiet path. If you look around you can also discover Cinderella’s wishing well!
