The Boneyard features lots of places for kids to explore. There are ladders to climb, bridges to cross, caves to wander in and slides to zip down!

You’ll also find several archeological exploration stations, where you’ll discover fun facts about dinosaurs and the methods used to uncover their bones. Speaking of uncovering bones, the main attraction of the Boneyard is the large sandpit, where kids can dig and search for prehistoric fossils!

Magical Moments

  • Be sure to explore the entire Boneyard. In addition to all of the fun places there are to play in, you may learn a thing or two about the life of an archeologist.
  • Young archeologists will thrill at the prospect of digging for fossils (there really are skeletons hiding in there to be found!).
  • Have you ever played a xylobone? Look behind the jeep to the right as you enter the Boneyard to find a series of bones embedded in the wall. Bang on them to receive a musical surprise!

Hidden Mickeys & Other Secrets

  • Look in the display to the right of the dig area. There you’ll find a fan and two hard hats forming a Hidden Mickey.
  • As you enter, take a peek underneath the water fountains to find a Hidden Mickey pattern in the ground.
  • As you wander through the upper levels of the Boneyard, keep an eye out for three coins arranged on a table that form a Hidden Mickey.

Did You Know...?

  • The dinosaur bones scattered throughout the Boneyard are casts taken from actual fossils found in such places as Utah’s Dinosaur National Park.
  • Even the Boneyard sign itself is an archeological find, it’s a replica of a Stegosaurus’s shoulder blade. That’s one big shoulder!
