Remember when Dumbo first learns how to fly? Well now you can experience that thrill yourself as you and Dumbo take off on a fun filled flight over Fantasyland.

As you board, you’ll notice a control stick which lets you control how high you go. So grab on tight (make sure Dumbo has a good hold of his magic feather!), and pretty soon you’ll be able to tell everyone that you’ve “seen an elephant fly”!

Dumbo was recently relocated to the Storybook Circus section of the newly expanded Fantasyland, where a second ride was added, doubling the capacity of the old ride and incorporating an interactive queue.

Magical Moments

  • Young children love to ride Dumbo. Seeing the joy in their faces as they soar high above Fantasyland is enough to melt any parent’s heart (be sure to have your camera at the ready!).
  • If you’ve seen the film you’ll surely remember Timothy Q. Mouse. Look for him perched atop the center post.

  • Remember the black feather that Dumbo had, the one that he thought enabled him to fly? You can spot it in Timothy Q. Mouse’s hand as he sits high atop the central pillar!

Did You Know...?

  • The versions of Dumbo in Disneyland and Disneyland Paris feature water elements in the center. The reason there are none in the Magic Kingdom version is due to the utilidors that run directly underneath the attraction, preventing the installation of any water piping.
  • Timothy Q. Mouse isn’t the only character from the film to appear with Dumbo. Look for the stork that delivered the baby elephant among the ornamentation circling the central pillar.

Touring Tips

  • Dumbo is now a FastPass+ attraction. But even if you opt for the Standby line, the waiting experience is much improved. When you arrive, you are given a pager, and you then proceed into the Big Top where little ones can play, and parents can relax. When your pager goes off, it’s your turn to fly high with Dumbo!
  • Dumbo is similar in style to the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, the only difference being the theming of the ride. If your kids like this attraction they’ll also enjoy the Magic Carpets. The Magic Carpets can also be a nice alternative to Dumbo if your kids want to fly but aren’t particularly enamored with Dumbo (the Magic Carpets of Aladdin usually has a shorter line).
  • Be sure to visit the nearby meet and greet area, Pete’s Silly Sideshow, to meet some of your favorite Disney characters.
  • The seats are on the smallish side, a large adult might have some trouble squeezing in with their little one.
