Inspired by the memorable tea party scene from Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Tea Party is like no other party you’ve ever seen!

As you enter the Mad Tea Party you’ll find yourself surrounded by giant tea cups (and a very large teapot in the center!). Climb into a cup of your choosing and get ready for a wild, spinning ride courtesy of the Mad Hatter himself!

Magical Moments

  • If you like spinning around this is the ride for you! Grab onto the central post and spin, spin, spin!
  • Keep an eye out for the dormouse; he’ll occasionally pop out of the teapot in the middle of the floor.
  • Visit at night to take a magical spinning ride through the dark!

  • Look for the March Hare’s whimsical house off to the side, it actually contains the control booth!

Did You Know...?

  • The main difference between the Magic Kingdom version and the Disneyland version is the addition of the large canopy to protect guests from the Florida sun (and occasional rain shower!).
  • The topiary statues that surround the attraction are meticulously maintained and can take many years to grow.

Touring Tips

  • If you’re susceptible to motion sickness beware! This attraction spins you around at a dizzying pace.
  • The individual spinning of the cups is left up to you. If you do nothing you’ll still weave around in broad circles, but the spinning is not nearly so intense.
  • However, be aware of your riding partner(s)! You’ll often find parents who were at the mercy of their children frantically spinning the tea cups as fast as they can. That may be great fun for the kids, but the parents usually get quite woozy!
  • It should go without saying, but don’t ride the Mad Tea Party immediately after consuming a large meal.
  • The Mad Tea Party is usually not as busy as many of the other Fantasyland attractions. Wait times aren’t usually a problem.
