A must-see for all Disney fans, the Launch Bay is filled with models, costumes, and props from the Star Wars films. You can meet some of your favorite (or most feared!) characters, and even watch a film taking you behind the scenes of this beloved franchise. Finally, you can explore one of the best Star Wars souvenir shops this side of Tatooine Traders in Echo Lake!

Magical Moments

  • Star Wars fans of all ages will delight at all of the models, costumes, artwork, and props on display!
  • Keep an eye out for the model of the Tantive IV (the first ship ever seen in the Star Wars saga!), Kylo Ren’s light saber, and even Han Solo’s lucky dice!
  • As you enter the Launch Bay, you’ll see a welcoming “crawl” on the floor in the style of the famous crawls that begin every Star Wars film!

Did You Know...?

  • This area of Animation Courtyard was formerly home to the Magic of Disney Animation attraction, which gave Guests a behind the scenes look at real animators at work.
  • The Launching Bay used to be home to the holographic game table seen on the Millennium Falcon. That prop was first on display in the now-closed Great Movie Ride attraction, located in the Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. The game table is now on display in Smuggler’s Run at Galaxy’s Edge.

Touring Tips

  • Be sure to visit the Launch Bay Theater, where you can watch an inspiring 10-minute film celebrating the talented team that brings the Star Wars saga to life. The film includes interviews with the directors, writers, producers and other key players behind the beloved film series!
  • You can meet Chewbacca and BB-8! Word has it that Chewie gives great Wookie hugs!!!
  • You’ll find great Star Wars souvenirs at Launch Bay Cargo, including life-size sculptures, autographed memorabilia, high-end movie prop replicas and print-on-demand phone cases featuring your choice of Star Wars art.
