Legend has it that the Genie bottle that serves as the focal point of the attraction was unearthed during the removal of a well in the central plaza during the Adventureland expansion.
 
Many of the tiles embedded into the ground were taken from a small building that had to be removed when the Magic Carpets were constructed.
 
The jewelry in the ground mimics the pieces that can be bought in the surrounding Bazaar. You can also see the same jewelry pieces incorporated into the awnings of the marketplace.
