Most of the ride is tame, but the last plunge is one of the biggest thrills you'll find at the Magic Kingdom. The drop is 52 1/2 feet long and pitched at a 45º angle. The plunge is actually not quite as bad as it appears, and it's over before you know it, but don't let that fool you—this is one of the most exhilarating thrill rides you'll find anywhere! Oh, and did we mention that you might get wet?
The majority of the ride is relaxing, just a gentle flume ride down a meandering stream. But watch out for that last drop—you'll hit speeds of 40 mph, making it one of the fastest attractions in the Magic Kingdom (for a few brief seconds anyway).
Over 100 meticulously designed Animatronic figures tell the story of Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox and Brer Bear. Splash Mountain is unlike any flume ride you've ever seen. The attention to detail, expert storytelling and quintessential Disney magic make Splash Mountain one of the most beloved attractions of all time, appealing not only to Disney fanatics but to thrill seekers as well.
The final drop can be frightening (you can hear the screaming as soon as you enter Frontierland!), and you'll certainly get that weightless, stomach-in-your-throat sensation as you race down into the briar patch. But it's over before you know it, and any lingering effects from Splash Mountain should be of the dry-yourself-off variety, not queeziness.
Splash Mountain is arguably the most popular attraction at the Magic Kingdom (possibly rivaled only by Space Mountain). The largest crowds will definitely be found here, so be sure to check out the Touring Tips section for strategies to avoid lengthy waits.
Your wet and wild ride through Chickapin Hill takes about 10 minutes.

If you're a fan of flume rides you don't want to miss this! Splash Mountain takes the familiar flume ride to a whole new level as only Disney can. Spectacular!!
