Opened:
July 17, 1992
Origins: The last of the three Magic Kingdom mountains to be built, Splash Mountain took the familiar flume-style attraction and turned it into pure Disney magic. The attraction was formally dedicated a few months later on October 1 (one day after the opening of Splash Mountain in Tokyo Disneyland).
Updates: The play area near the entrance of Splash Mountain (known as the Laughin' Place) was added in 1997.
